The premise of okoto stems far beyond cloth and thread. For us, okoto is a way of life.

Our name, with its strong symmetry, is meant to remind us to cultivate a life of balance. One that embodies obligations, helping others, and the importance of staying stoked.

For that reason, we work hard to make sure the brand behind our label is one of integrity, intention and inspiration.

Because of that, our life experiences, the people we meet, and the places we've traveled have inspired our artistically driven designs. It's our mission to create a name that will inspire you.

It's not just cloth and thread, it's the common thread that connects us all.

Dress to live. Live to inspire.

HEATHER BROWN | 6.2009
We are stoked to feature the beautiful North Shore artist, Heather Brown, for our first interview. We've admired her work for some time now, and have come to know her a bit over the past year. Heather's talent and humble lifestyle make her a perfect example of someone who lives to inspire.

She has made quite an impression in the world with her youthful and vibrant art which you may recognize from the 2008 Kokua Festival or last year's contest poster for the 2008 Women's Triple Crown of Surfing. She also works as an ambassador for Foam Magazine and is Rip Curl's "Artist of the Search".
